Web page design:
Like any building, a web page has an
architecture.
In each page, about fifty components are
being integrated and harmonized.
For a new Web site, an initial template page must be
created and tested for browser
compatibility, mainly with Internet Explorer,
Mozilla Firefox and Safari.
Static or Dynamic Web site
A Web page programmed in HTML is said to be static.
The main template is copied to produce every page of the
Web site. For each new page, the content is
changed in the body, the title, description and keywords
in the header and the links in the menus.
With database driven dynamic Web pages the same
components are programmed as objects and anchors. A page
is created in HTML code only at the moment it is visted.
The most popular software languages for dynamic pages
are ASP, ASPX, CFM or PHP.
The advantage of dynamic pages is the capacity to
collect and store new information from the users to be
redisplayed, such as in user profiles, threaded
discussions, newsletter subscriptions, surveys, and e-commerce
applications.
